Apple Crumble
Time: 1 hrs
Ingredients
- 2 lbs granny smith apples or 2 lbs other green cooking apples, peeled,cored and sliced (16 slices per apple)
- 1/4 cup apple cider
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 pinch salt
- 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
Directions
- 1 Preheat oven to 350-degrees F.
- 2 Place apple slices in a 2-quart casserole or baking dish.
- 3 Pour cider over apples.
- 4 Combine next ingredients ingredients (flour-salt) in a bowl.
- 5 Cut in butter or margarine with two knives until mixture is crumbly.
- 6 Spoon mixture over apples, spreading evenly to cover all the apple slices.
- 7 Bake for 40-50 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is light brown.
