Apple Crumble

Time: 1 hrs

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs granny smith apples or 2 lbs other green cooking apples, peeled,cored and sliced (16 slices per apple)
  • 1/4 cup apple cider
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine

Directions

  • 1 Preheat oven to 350-degrees F.
  • 2 Place apple slices in a 2-quart casserole or baking dish.
  • 3 Pour cider over apples.
  • 4 Combine next ingredients ingredients (flour-salt) in a bowl.
  • 5 Cut in butter or margarine with two knives until mixture is crumbly.
  • 6 Spoon mixture over apples, spreading evenly to cover all the apple slices.
  • 7 Bake for 40-50 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is light brown.
