Deviled Chicken

Ingredients

  • 1 chicken, cut into serving pieces
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 1 (10 ounce) can beef broth
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder

Directions

  • 1 Salt and pepper chicken and brown in oil.
  • 2 Remove chicken.
  • 3 Whisk flour with drippings in pan. Cook and stir for 2 minutes; add remaining ingredients and mix well.
  • 4 Bring to a boil, then reduce to simmer.
  • 5 Return chicken to pan and spoon sauce over.
  • 6 Cover and simmer for 45 minutes.
