Caramel Ice Cream Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/3 cup half-and-half cream
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  • 1 Combine brown sugar and cornstarch in a saucepan, stir in the cream, water and cornsyrup until smooth.
  • 2 Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened; remove from heat and stir in the butter and vanilla until butter is melted.
  • 3 Serve hot or cold over ice cream; refrigerate leftovers.
